The grace of God is truly amazing. God is in the business of changing lives. He transformed Paul – once a blasphemer, a persecutor and a violent man. Paul was shown mercy because he acted in ignorance and unbelief. Paul used to persecute the Christians and he did not believe what Jesus claimed about Himself. While on the road to Damascus, our Lord Jesus spoke to Paul asking, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” Suddenly, it all made sense to Paul – every claim Jesus made about Himself made sense to Paul and Paul acknowledged Jesus as his Lord and long-awaited Savior. Paul started to preach that Jesus is the Son of God (Ac.9:20) and that forgiveness of sin is found in Christ Jesus (Ac.13:38,39; 18:5). He became a missionary to the Gentiles and God used Paul t0 boldly preach the gospel and to transform many lives. The Lord considered Paul trustworthy for His service. The Lord continues to do this work of grace today. God will pour out His grace upon anyone who is willing to recognize his or her past sins, turn to Him and embrace His purposes for his or her life. There is no sinner too hard for God to change and there is none who is completely without hope. Jesus invites all to come – but how many will come to Him? Will you accept His invitation to come to Him and find rest in Him? As you walk with God today, think about God’s amazing grace. Will you humbly turn to Him, repent of your sins and be a true follower of Christ? Will you be one who will read His Word and live according to it? Will you be one who will pursue God’s purposes and live a Spirit-filled and Spirit-led life? Will you accept His truly amazing grace?

Today’s Bible text “12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. 13 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. 14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.” (1Tim.1:12-14)
