Proverbs 31 is a prophecy from King Lemuel’s mother given to him. She told him, “Do not give your strength to women, your ways to those who destroy kings.” (Prov.31:3) The King’s mother was referring to ungodly women who did ungodly things that would destroy even a king! Well, of course ungodly men who do ungodly things can also destroy many lives! It is easy for kings, princes and leaders to think we are invincible and indestructible. The moment we think that, we lose our guard, we are no longer on the alert, the enemy pounces on us and we begin our descend into moral degradation. Sexual temptation is one of a kind. It is no respecter of status, power, wealth and even spirituality! It has brought down kings and princes, government leaders and church leaders, CEOs and school principals, clergy and laity, the rich and famous, and also the not so rich and not so famous. Really, almost no man or woman is exempted. What then must we do especially when many of us travel frequently to foreign lands for studies, recreation and business? This is what we must do, just one word, one thing to do: FLEE! When pretty and wealthy desperate housewife – Mrs Potiphar caught Joseph by his cloak and said, “come to bed with me!”, Joseph did that one thing – HE LEFT HIS CLOAK IN HER HAND AND RAN OUT OF THE HOUSE! He FLED! (Gen.39:12) Way to go Joe! Trouble is, when faced with a similar situation, many today have not fled. When they were found out by their spouses, their entire life, their loved ones are shattered into a million pieces. It’s not worth the fleeting moments of pleasure. It’s just not worth it. As you walk with the Lord today, beware of the desperate housewife or the desperate man in your office! Do not negotiate with the tempter, just flee! Have a great day!
