Prob.29:1 tells us that “A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed – without remedy.” This reminds me of Pharaoh during Moses’ time. Pharaoh was stubborn and did not want to let God’s people go. He hardened his heart against God (Exo.8:15,32; 1Sam.6:6). Subsequently, the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart (Exo.9:12) knowing that Pharaoh will continue to harden his heart against Him. That was Pharaoh’s point of no return. There is a point of no return for everyone. Prov.29:1 cautions us that if any man or any woman chooses to be stiff-necked after repeated rebukes and warnings, he or she will suddenly be destroyed – without remedy! It will happen suddenly without further warning. While we often emphasize the love and grace of God, which is necessary, at the same time, we must not forget that God is holy and righteous and will not tolerate deliberate and prolonged sinning! There is a point of no return. When it is, only God knows. It differs from person to person. And one day, THE ULTIMATE POINT OF NO RETURN will come, when Jesus the Son of God comes again as the Ultimate Judge and Ruler, like a thief in the night – surprisingly and suddenly. As you walk with God today, know that your loving heavenly Father is also Holy God. Therefore, be sober-minded and live a life worthy of our Lord and our calling. Have a great day!

Today’s Bible text: “A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed – without remedy.” (Prov.29:1)
