Do you walk by faith or by sight? Would you go to a place that looks dry and barren if that is what appears to be your lot given by God? Would you be happy with leftovers while your colleagues got a nice share of the pie? Would you believe that the leftovers could become premium stuff? Well, that’s exactly what happened in Abram’s life. Lot chose the well-watered land, clearly leaving Abram with the dry and probably barren land. So Abram walked by faith and “moved his tents and went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the LORD.” (Gen.13:18) Not only did Abram move his family there but he also built an altar to the Lord, he took time to worship God! He didn’t move to the land reluctantly or grudgingly, he did so with a heart of obedience and worship. And as we know, the Lord blessed Abram and his descendants. As you walk with God today, do not despise the day of small beginnings. Do not look down on something that may look unfruitful or unattractive now. Remember, God always gives us the best! Whatever He gives is good and perfect even though for a while it may not look it. That is why we need to have faith in God and live by faith everyday. Keep trusting Him even when you are in a position of disadvantage or in the place of pain. He will bless you eventually, that we know for sure! Have a great day!

Today’s Bible text: 14 The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west. 15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring for ever. 16 I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. 17 Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.” 18 So Abram moved his tents and went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the LORD. (Gen.13:14-18)
