If Jesus did not rise from the dead, our faith would be futile and we, Christians, would be the most pitiful amongst all people because our hope would be in vain. But thanks be to God, Jesus did rise again on the third day, on that first Easter. While in Adam, all have sinned and were dead in our trespasses, now in Christ, we have all been made alive! Furthermore, the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead now lives in you and me to give life to our mortal bodies through the Holy Spirit who lives in us (Rom.8:11). So the resurrection power of God is now residing in us to enable us to live a victorious Christian life – to give life to our mortal bodies. It’s not that we are immortal, not yet, that will happen when Jesus comes again. But our mortality is now empowered mortality and that means while we are ordinary on the one hand, yet in Christ and by the Holy Spirit living in us, we are able to walk in the supernatural! The extent of our walk in the supernatural is directly proportionate to the degree of our intimacy with Christ and our yieldedness to Him. The closer we are in communion with the Lord, the greater will be His power at work in and through us. D L Moody, the greatest evangelist ever lived, said, “Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard what God can do with, through and for a man totally consecrated unto Him.” That’s right, we ain’t seen nothing yet! The fact that many Christians today are not living that victorious Christian life and walking in the supernatural that is clearly evident to all – especially to non-believers, tells us something about the degree of our communion with the Lord. The attendance at church prayer meetings speaks volumes about the spiritual temperature of the church. Many have said that the church prayer meeting is the spiritual barometer of the church. The fact that we spend more time talking about administrative and financial matters in contrast to ministry and spiritual matters tells us where our treasure and heart are. There are many leaders’ meetings and eatings in churches, but how many leaders’ prayer meetings are there? When we spend more time talking than praying, we are already in trouble. Lord, have mercy on us and revive your people and your church once again! As you walk with God today, walk in the Spirit, keep in step with Him and bear the fruit of the Spirit. As you do that, the hand of God will work wonders through you and your eyes will behold the supernatural power of God bringing transformation, healing and deliverance to those who are living in darkness, disease and desperation. Have a Spirit-led and Spirit-empowered day!

Today’s Bible text: “17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. … 20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” (1Cor.15:17,20-22)
