Don’t be fooled by glib statements such as, “God loves you so much there is nothing you can do that would make Him love you less!” Whenever a statement like this is made, the congregation would cheer and shout hallelujah! But is this true? Is it true that God loves us so much there is nothing we can do that would make Him love us less? Well, the statement is true if we assume that no matter how much we sin and rebel against God, He still loves us. I think He does too. After all, Jesus said, “For God so loved the world ….” God loves the whole world and everyone in it – both saved and unsaved sinners. While there is nothing we can do that would make God love us less, there is something we can do that would make God punish us despite the fact that He loves us – and that is deliberate and continuous sinning. When we sin deliberately and continually without true repentance, God will punish us and we will not inherit the Kingdom of heaven. See today’s Bible text below – Heb.10:26,27. Also, Heb.12:6 tells us that God disciplines those He love and punishes everyone He accepts as a son. But when ungodly behaviour and lifestyle persist despite the discipline, then there will be judgment and raging fire awaiting the ungodly. As you walk with God today, remember that deliberate and continuous sinning is completely unacceptable even by a loving God and this is because our God of love is also the God of holiness and righteousness, therefore He will not and cannot tolerate and co-exist with sin and sinners in the end. Walk closely with the Lord, love God and hate sin, do not compromise your integrity and your God-given righteousness no matter what they tempt you with. Have a great day!

Today’s Bible text: “26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.” (Heb.10.26,27)
