grace2

One of the most comforting Scripture is 2Cor.12:9 when Paul heard the Lord say to him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” How true that is and how we need that everyday! God’s grace is always sufficient for you and for me. His grace brings comfort to a heart that is stung by unkind words and action. His grace brings meaning to an otherwise complex, confusing and perplexing situation. His grace is a reminder to us each day that He died on the cross and paid a price to redeem us from our sins and to give us a truly abundant life. Yes, there is abundant life on earth and it is within reach. But what is abundant life? It is a life that is truly blessed by God. A life of humility – blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mt.5:3). A life of characterized by meekness – blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth (Mt.5:5). A life full of hunger and thirst for righteousness – for such will be filled (Mt.5:6). A life of marked by mercy towards others – blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy (Mt.5:7). A life that is pure – blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God (Mt.5:8). A life that demonstrates peace and reconciliation – blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God (Mt.5:9). An abundant life is not necessarily about being blessed materially though God promises He will meet our needs, not our greed. In fact, there will be times when God indulges in us and pours out material blessings into our lives extravagantly. And there may times when God withhold His material blessings for reasons known only to Him. During such times, we continue to say, “Hallelujah to the King!” for God is worthy and is always in control and on the throne! His grace is always sufficient for you and for me. As you begin your walk with God today, give thanks to God and praise Him from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him in the night time, praise Him in the day time. Praise Him when you’re up and when you’re down. Praise Him on the mountains and praise Him in the valleys. Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord, at all times, in all circumstances! Have a great day!

Today’s Bible text: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2Cor.12:9)
