Position, Pride & Jealousy

on

The greater the platform we’ve been given to lead our company or organisation, the higher we’re promoted, the more we’re exalted and praised by fellow men, the greater is the need for us to grow in humility. When the increase in position is directly proportionate to the degree of meekness, God is truly glorified.

On the one hand, while those of us who are promoted and exalted need to increase in humility and guard ourselves from pride, those of us who didn’t get promoted and praised need to increase in generosity and guard ourselves from jealousy.

The devil is like a roaring lion waiting for someone to devour – if he can’t get us one way, he will try to get us another way. He is not committed to using only one method, not stupid enough to do so.

(Likewise, if the devil can’t get to certain people through satanic rock music, he will get them through dark satanic classical music. Too often he is wrongly portrayed ONLY as a rocker dressed in tight jeans and wrapped in chains, truth is he also could be wearing a tailcoat conducting an orchestra! While young people need to be careful about what they listen to, the same applies to the older ones.)

But when we submit ourselves to God and mindfully, intentionally resist the devil, his devices against us will fail and he will flee from us! (Jas.4:7)
