Deeper or Further?

Have the pandemic, circuit breaker, safe distancing, isolation, etc. made us GROW DEEPER in the Lord or DRIFT FURTHER from Him?

One man could draw closer to the Lord while another could drift further away – that’s the reality. Some have enjoyed the flexible hours they have now and spent more time in their personal devotion and they become mindful of the Lord in everything they do while others have allowed their hearts to grow cold due to the absence of on-site services and meetings.

How each of us turn out depends on our personal relationship with the Lord. If we spend time cultivating it, we will remain in Him; otherwise, we will fall away quickly.

Whether each of us choose to cultivate our personal relationship with the Lord or not depends on our theology. If we truly believe that God is living and active, that God wants us to walk with Him, remain in Him and keep His commands, then our belief would lead us to do our utmost in cultivating our personal relationship with God, otherwise, everything else would appear preeminent and our walk with the Lord takes a back seat – eventually our faith is ship-wrecked.

Have you grown deeper or drifted further?

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
