When church, which is the community of God’s people or family of God, becomes merely institutional, organisational and professional, the key characteristics of church life are compromised.
Usually, the vast majority of people don’t really know each other very well, relationships are superficial, we don’t feel the need to see each other or meet together more regularly, the level of care and support is low, we can’t teach and correct each other without the fear of offending one another, etc.
As God’s people, we all have a role to make sure that the local church we are a part of does not become like that.
